Easy to read, unless for some genetic explanations. I liked it better than I expected when I started reading it, as the first part of the book was too long sometimes for me. Found the story interesting but... From my point of view, Bear portrays the characters as stereotypes in certain times. A bit more work on the main characters (Dickon, for example, he deserves more attention), and perhaps an end not so predictable.
